The SAS Alumni Association was founded in 1986 by  Finbar Kenneally, O.F.M., a friar and former teacher at St. Anthony's Seminary, Santa Barbara, California. Finbar  believed that a true alumni association was all inclusive: Anyone who ever attended St. Anthony's--whether it was for a few days or all four years, whether he dropped out or continued on to the priesthood--was welcomed at the annual SAS Alumni reunions. Finbar's belief is still the cornerstone of the SAS Alumni Association.
